Help me, Jesus

I know this is a whimsical art piece, but I believe we can all learn a lesson from Mr. Bear. If you have ever been in front of me going slow in the left lane or you won’t go when the light is green, then you would never know that I turn into Mr. Bear. I may have honked my horn at you a few times.  I may have told you to go on.  I may have even called you an idiot. I know Christians aren’t supposed to act like this.  I know.  I’ve had to ask the Lord to forgive me more times than I care to admit.

The end result is I’m learning self-control.  Here’s the deal… We can’t just say, “I’m human, I make mistakes”.  NO, that’s an excuse. You and I MUST be better.  We must work on our attitudes; we must work on our patience.  We must work on our self-control. We must try to be more like Jesus every day.

I’ve come to realize two things – 1 – it’s my fault.  If I’m in that big of a hurry, I should have left earlier.  2. It really doesn’t matter that I must go slower because you are slow. You are probably saving my life and the life of my car.

But the thing that will put me over the edge is when I see you texting or looking at your phone when you’re supposed to be paying attention to the road and drivers on the road with you. This is apt to cause road rage to erupt in me.  But you won’t notice because you’re not paying attention anyway.

You see we Christians are not the hypocrites you think we are.  I can admit my indignation to your lack of driving skills. I can also ask the Lord to forgive me for calling you an idiot, but that won’t change your driving skills.  Please get off your cell phone and learn to drive before you meet Jesus face to face. And then where will you be???

I do not utter Jesus’s name lightly.  I pray every time I leave the house to have a safe journey. Even if I’m just going to church 3 miles away. Cause I am getting older, and I make stupid mistakes too.  I hope everyone will give me the same courtesy as I give you.

SO, I won’t call you an idiot anymore.  I won’t honk my horn. I won’t tell you to go on.  I will smile and thank you and Jesus for saving my life.

The reason the background of the bear is blurry is because he is driving at an unsafe speed, which may or may not have been me once or twice.

Let’s take a lesson.  Be careful out there and be kind, you don’t know what someone else may be going through.  Don’t text and drive or look at your phone and drive.  It’s against the law and it is so dangerous.  PAY ATTENTION to the other drivers.  And above all, say a prayer for protection, you never know who may be behind you.   😊 It could be a bear without Jesus.

Try to remember the fruits of the spirit are love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there are no laws.  Galatians 5:22-23.

We (I) have to do better.
